Obituary of Jane Lea Ridings

Jane Ridings, 91, of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away peacefully April 14, 2022. Born in New Kensington, PA to Robert B. and Sara D. Elliott. Jane was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Jane began a long and successful career in banking in the Trust Department of the former Bank of Seminole. She served as Trust Office and Vice President with several other financial institutions before her retirement from Bank of America at age 62. Jane enjoyed community service and over the years was a member of the Rotary Club of Belleair Bluffs where she served on the Board. She served as President of the local chapter of the National Association of Bank Women and was a member of the Estate Planning Council of Pinellas County and Tampa Bay Estate Planning Council. She was a long-time member of the St. Petersburg Optimist Club and served as Distinguished President and Secretary/Treasurer of the former High Noon Optimist Club. Jane always cherished her forever title as Mom and considered her greatest accomplishments in life raising three wonderful children who survive her: James R. Himes (Shawn), Sharon L. Holland (Ken) and Mark E. Himes (Karen), including four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, James C. Ridings and her extended family includes three sons (two deceased), four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Jane's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, however her family finds peace in her long life, well-lived, done her way. A celebration of Jane's life will be held Friday, May 20, 2022 at 10 am at E. James Reese Funeral Home, 6767 Seminole Blvd., Seminole, FL.
