Obituary of Susan Maxemow

Susan B. Maxemow (Murphy), 96, a longtime resident of Pinellas County, joined her husband in heaven on September 14, 2022. She was born in 1926 in Manhattan, NY. Susan married her husband Michael in 1946 and settled in the Pinellas area in 1972. Known as "Miss Sue" she worked at the Science Center of Pinellas County in various roles serving and educating the community in the sciences for over 30 years. She was a member of the "Second Time Around Band" and the Blessed Sacrament Choir. She worshiped at Blessed Sacrament Church for over 40 years. An athlete, Susan was a synchronized swimmer, certified scuba diver, golfer, bowler, and tennis player. Her travels included Scotland, Greece, and Ireland. Susan was known as "Micky" to her family and friends. Memories of her wit and Irish Catholic character will be cherished by her children Susan (John) Reekie and Mike (Deborah) Maxemow, her 7 grandchildren (John, Scott, Summer, Katy, Shane, Ryan, and Jake) and her 8 great grandchildren (Karsyn, Griffin, Eli, Zeke, Oliver, Leona, William, and James). Mrs. Maxemow will be inurned in Serenity Gardens in Largo next to her beloved husband. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Suncoast Hospice Foundation.
