I met Raymond in November 1975, I was living in Port Jeff and from the UK. My car broke down near Smithtown Mall and Ray stopped in his red VW to help. We became friends until I moved into Manhattan and lost touch in the early 80s. I am living back home now in the UK and have just watched the Stonewall documentary on tv and thought I recognised Ray from his speech and then saw his photo next to him when he was 21 and I knew it was him. I was hoping to search for him but have heard the sad news and can only say that I will always have fond memories of Raymond, he was a kind, giving man. God bless you all.

"You gave to so many... I am so sad that you are gone and I never had a chance to say goodbye." Ray you were there for me so many years and I can't forget all the wonderful; times we shared together. You were like a father to me. When I moved to Florida you took me under your wing and helped me on the right track. I miss our fun going to the flea market and going to the gym. I always loved you yellow rice and cut up meat from the bakery you use to make. I enjoyed your friendship. Time goes by quickly. I pray for you daily and know that the Lord has taken you home. You will never be forgotten my friend. I Love you and miss you! your friend forever... Ron Z

The funniest thing I remember about my uncle was how he use to say hi. His way of hi is licking your cheek. He has always done that since I was a little girl. I will always remember him and love him dearly. I miss you tio. Ray.

Dave and Linda DiSesa, We will always have fond memories of chatting at night when walking our dogs together down our street. He always had a funny story to tell . Ray's kindness showed as he frequently helped his neighbors. The love he had for his dogs was endless. Ray showed much strength as he faught this terrible disease. Our prayers will be with Frankie .

Frankie, Our hearts are heavy as we heard the news yesterday of Rays passing. Ray was a wonderful person and we shared so many fun times with you and him on the boat, going to Fort Desoto, flea markets, yard sales. When we Moved to Madiera Beach we had nothing except our clothes, He quickly made our house a home with treasures he found at those sales and Flea markets. He made our "wedding cake" for us on our First anniversary, the picture still hangs on our wall. We are in Fort Lauderdale now, Drop us an e-mail when you get a chance we love and miss you and will miss Ray dearly.

Ray was always checking in. He loved his family. He was very attentive and caring. Once I mentioned I was interested in shopping for a folding bike and months after he began leaving voice messages and email address with special deals for a bike....I had even forgotten about that conversation and he was looking around to help me find a deal. Christmas was one of his favorites seasons. Setting up the Christmas tree was one of the moments he loved sharing...the ornaments had history. I enjoyed visiting him and Frankie and playing with the dogs. He will be missed!

Uncle Nick and Aunt Sandra,
We will always miss the way Ray could change the atmosphere from blah to
uncontrolled laughter. He will always be considered part of our family and
appreciated for the love and devotion he showed during his life. He helped our sister
Rose in her fight with cancer and shared his life with Frankie our beloved nephew.
Our prayers and condolences go out Ray's immediate family and many friends he
touched over the years.

Raymond will always be the love of my life. 31 years of memories, we met when I was just turning 18 years old in 1978(the Disco years) and have been together ever since. So many great vacations, holidays shared, so much fun and good times. It was on an extremely rare occasion in all these years that we did not sleep together. He is my soul mate and words cannot describe how much I miss him. Sparky and Coco miss him very much as well, they are our dogs and he loved them, they were by his side every day when he was feeling ill while I went to work. Frankie, as Ray affectionately called me since I first met him.
