Obituary of Eugeniusz Ochalek

Eugeniusz Ochalek, age 70 of Seminole, surrounded by his family, entered into eternal peace on Friday, June 9, 2017. Eugeniusz was born on June 6, 1947 in Lublica Poland, to his beloved parents Wojciech and Jozefa (Gwizdz) Ochalek. He was the youngest of three brothers. He grew up in a loving and devout Roman Catholic home, where his love for religious hymns was born. He and his brother took that love of music and formed a band that entertained countless Polish weddings and events during their younger years. He served in the Polish Army, and during this time he met his wife, Lucy Macner. They moved their new life to Connecticut. During their 48-year marriage, they had three children, a daughter and two sons. They moved to Florida in 1985 where their family would continue to expand with a son-in-law and daughters-in-law and many grandchildren. Eugeniusz was a kind soul with a generous heart. His Faith remained strong and his love for God the Father and our Savior Jesus Christ was infinite. He was a hard working man and loved his family. His love for his grandchildren was unconditional and he always looked forward to spending time with them. His love for music carried on forever in his life; you would just say the word and the saxophone, harmonica or accordion would be brought out to play a classical or polka song. He was an avid Tampa Bay Rays fan and tried never to miss a game on television. He was preceded by his parents and his brother, Janek. He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his wife, Lucy (Macner) Ochalek; daughter Sue Balcom and son-in-law Richard Balcom; son Andrew Ochalek and daughter-in-law Joline Ochalek; son Richard Ochalek and daughter-in-law Margaret Ochalek; his brother Jozek Ochalek; many precious grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a number of other relatives and close friends. Visitation will be held at Reese Funeral Home located 6767 Seminole Boulevard, Seminole, on Wednesday, June 14th from 6:00-8:00pm. A funeral mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church located at 11565 66thAvenue North, Seminole, on Thursday, June 15th at 10:00am. A committal service will follow at Calvary Cemetery located 5233 118th Avenue North, Clearwater.
