Obituary of Christopher L. Pacifico

Christopher L. Pacifico, 98, of St. Petersburg, FL. passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2018. Chris is predeceased by his loving wife, Ann in 2005, and his son, Patrick, in 1992. Chris was born on February 13, 1919 on the island of Ventotene, Italy. Chris is the last child of eight children of Pasquale Silverio Pacifico and Filomena Musella Pacifico. Chris is predeceased by his father and mother and all of his seven brothers and sisters. In 1929, at the age of ten, Chris arrived in the United States, with his parents and siblings. In 1936, at the age of 17, Chris enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. with the permission of his parents. Chris was a member of the "Greatest Generation". He was part of the First Marine Division in the invasion of Okinawa. Chris served as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp. during WW II, and he was honorably discharged in 1954. After his service as a Master Sergeant, Chris served as a New York City Police Officer from 1954 to 1970. After retiring from the NYPD, Chris and Ann opened and ran the Tally-Ho Villa pizzeria in Middletown, NY from 1971 to 1994. In 1994, Chris and Ann moved from Middletown, NY to St. Petersburg FL, where they spent many enjoyable years together until Ann's death. From 2010 until his death, Chris resided with his daughter, Rhonda and her husband Joe DeTrano, in Titusville, Florida. Chris and Ann raised their three children, Patrick, Rhonda and Paulette in Freeport, NY. Chris is survived by his two daughters, Rhonda, and her husband, Joe DeTrano of Titusville, FL; and Paulette Pacifico, of Bellmore, NY. Chris is also survived by his granddaughter, Tracey and her husband, Tony Rivezzo. Chris is also survived by granddaughter, Deana Berube; grandson, Chris DeTrano; and grandson, Anthony DeTrano; and by great-grandchildren, Alexandria Rivezzo and Anthony Rivezzo. Chris was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
