Obituary of James John Costello

Costello, James John 74, of Largo, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Morton Plant Hospital. Born in Pawtucket, RI, he came here in 1999 from North Attleboro, MA. After retiring from Trucchi's Market as Director of Operations, James moved to Largo, with his wife, Peg, who preceded him in death in 2007. James was an avid reader, enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his mischievous cat, Nutmeg. Most of all, he was proud of his children and grandchildren and looked forward to his daily conversations with them and his brother, Edward, who lovingly referred to him as "Shamus". He is survived by children: Colleen Keane, East Providence, RI, Maureen Boyd, Orlando, FL, Catherine Pompei, Tigard, OR, Diane D'Ambra, Cumberland, RI, James Costello, East Providence, RI, and Deborah Feather, Pawtucket, RI; brother: Edward Costello, Largo; stepchildren: Gregory and Steven Vandersip, both of Cranston, RI and 16 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7th at 3pm at Hospice House Woodside Chapel, 6770 102nd Ave N, Pinellas Park, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd, Clearwater, FL 33760, would be appreciated.
