To the Hartfield Family: It was with great sorrow that I learned of the passing of a dear friend, Jim. We had served together for many years on various medical education committees of the Florida Medical Association. Jim was always an astute, knowledgable discerning, well informed and caring individual for whom I have always had great repect. My wife and I will miss his jovial and kind nature.

Dear Gene and Family,
Jim holds a very special place in my heart. A kind and loving man whose friendship and guidance was so dear and profound. First as a ship guest on the Paul Gauguin and then as a friend. I will greatly miss him, but I know he is well and thriving in his new home.

To the Hartfield Family and Gene, We were so privileged to have Dr. Hartfield as the pediatrician for our two children who adored him. Beside providing excellent medical care, he provided excellent advice to the parents, who needed it. We will never forget him. Our prayers are with all of you. What a gift he was to all who knew him.

Our deepest sympathy goes to Gene and the Hartfield family. Jim took such great care of our children. They always loved seeing Dr Jim...going to his office sick but always coming out happy. Jim was also a dedicated community leader for Rochester and its schools for many years. But most of all Jim will be remembered as a dear friend that we shared many fun times. We thank him for the great memories! Again, our deepest sympathy. Jim will be missed.

To the family of Dr. Hartfield - My sincere sympathy for your loss. Jim was practically the first person I met in Rochester when I moved here in Dec. 1971 with 3 young boys and a newborn daughter. He was always kind and gentle. He was a special person and all of us loved him. I will always feel blessed that he came into our lives. May he rest with the angels. Katy Park

To the entire Hartfield Family, I send my condolences and my love. Your Dad and partner was one of the most significant men in my childhood, and I cherish many memories of him. He was my scoutmaster and, as I grew older, a counselor and friend. His gentle way, quick smile and cheerful laugh were constant companions on Scouting Outings and, in my later life, those occasions we met for lunch or coffee.
Having just recently lost my own Dad, I know the sadness that comes with the departure. But I believe that Dr. Jim will be there at the Gathering Together, and we can all celebrate in the end.
God's Best to all of you,
Jeff

Dear Gene,
What a gift to have worked with Jim for almost 8 yrs. Jim was a great person, as you know, we worked side by side. He was always loving, kind and what a great sense of humor. I still have several gifts he bought for me. Each time he'd take a trip I'd bribe him not really to bring me something. All these treasures will be cheerished forever. Gene, may you find God's grace and comfort during this time of loss.

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Hartfield at UltraMedix and it was a joy to have an office opposite him. What a gracious and loving man who touched our hearts with his humour and love. He will be missed but I am grateful for the time I spent with him. Much love in Christ, Vicki
