Obituary of Florence Stroessner

Stroessner, Florence,99, of Seminole, Florida, died Thursday, March 28, 2023 at Largo Hospital, just 3.5 weeks shy of her 100th birthday. She was born in West New York, New Jersey on April 22, 1924 to Harry and Clara Bieth. She grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Westwood High School. After high school, she worked as a secretary in Manhattan for the Journal and Macmillan Publishing. She was married to Harold Stroessner (who predeceased her) for 45 years. In 1986 she and Harold moved to Seminole, Florida from Dumont, New Jersey for their retirement. She enjoyed needlework, crocheting and knitting and spent her years during retirement making afghans for her grandchildren. She was fiercely independent and up to her death, lived first by herself in the house she and Harold bought and then at Lake Seminole Square where she made new friends and found a community. Survivors include her children, Gail (John) Meikle, Lee Brunngraber, Gil Stroessner (Doreen) and four grandchildren: Shane, Kylie, Troy and Trent. She was the most fantastic, loving mother and grandmother and we are all going to miss her tremendously.
