Obituary of Walter Loyall Pearson

Walter Loyall Pearson, 87, of Largo, Fla. passed away peacefully May 13th at Bellair East HealthCare. Born July 10th, 1922 in Toledo, Ohio, to Walter Leigh Pearson and Eugenia Lucas Pearson, he attended Cornell College and graduated from the University of Iowa, where he became a life-long member of Phi Delta Fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II and later in the U.S. Airforce Reserve during the Korean War. His early career was spent working in radio broadcasting. He later became an insurance executive, working for the Prudetial, Hartford, and Colonial Penn Insurance before he retired to Florida in 1982. He was a Mason and a Shriner. A longtime member of Rotary International, he held leadership position in both Philadelphia and Seminole clubs, serving as President-(1990-1991) and for many years as District Chairman of the Youth Exchange Program. He was predeceased by granddaughter Sara Courtney Bradshaw. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lois Grumstrup Pearson; children Paul Louis Pearson-(Cynthia), Penni Pearson Bradshaw-(Michael),Pamela Jean Pearson, and David Loyall Pearson; grandson Christopher Bradshaw; and sister Nancy Pearson Kunzman. Funeral services will be held on Friday May 21st at 1:00 p.m., Reese Funeral Home
