George Wukoson

Obituary of George J Wukoson

Wukoson, George J., 95, of Seminole, completed his earthly journey on June 5, 2010 passing peacefully at his home. George was born in McKeesport, Pa. on January 29, 1915 to Anna and Nicholas Wukoson. He was one of four children. George was a young man during the Great Depression and after two years of college, George joined the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) to help support his family. George lived his life passionately, and found something to enjoy in each and every day. George and Helen were married June 14, 1941 and together lovingly raised four children. George and Helen were parents, friends, lovers, and partners in life. Together they owned and operated hotels, developed land, owned a car repair and body shop and built homes, but none was more solid than the home that they built for their children, family and friends. All were welcome and dinner and a party were weekly events. George and Helen retired to Seminole in 1976. These were extraordinarily wonderful years for both of them and they were always laughing and smiling, sometimes just at each other without saying a word. The two most difficult periods in George's life occurred on December 1, 1998 and June 24, 2004 respectively, when Helen and then their oldest child, June Turner, went to reside with our Heavenly Father. However, weep not for George as he is now reunited with his bride, their daughter and the many family members and friends who have passed before him. George is survived by daughter Saundra Wozniak of Seminole, FL, son Nick Wukoson and his wife Rita of Leesburg, GA, and son David Wukoson and his wife Sue of Houston, TX; grandchildren Sean Turner and his wife Terri, Kelly Bradley and her husband Richard, Lori Wozniak, Nick Wukoson, Jr., George Wukoson, Sarah Wukoson, and Alex Wukoson; great grandchildren Ryan Bradley, Taylor Bradley, and Jack Wukoson: sisters Mary Lou Choat and Dorothy Kasmarik; family members John Turner, Carolyn and Tim Holton, additional extended family members and many dear friends. The family expresses their heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful caregivers who lovingly provided the needed support to George and the family, especially Linda McDonald, Terri Welch, Diane McDevitt, Pam Claycomb, Audrey Riley, Donna Schultz, Trish Tatum and Paul Greenway. These individuals were indeed true friends to George, and loved him as he loved them. A memorial service will be held on June 10, 2010 starting at 11:30 a.m. at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 10895 Hamlin Boulevard, Largo Fl., 33774. Interment will follow at Serenity Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests a donation to the animal shelter of your choice.
