Obituary of Helen K. Brow

Helen K. Brow, 97, of Parrish FL., formerly of Huber Heights, OH., passed away peacefully on June 9, 2010. Preceding her in death was her husband of 48 years, Ralph M. Brow (1992), a loving grandson, R. Craig Harshbarger (2002), and her beloved sister, Marjorie Petzoldt (2008). She is survived by her son, Robert Schantz and wife Mary of Parrish FL. and her daughter, Sandra Harshbarger Carlson and husband Ben of Centerville, OH. Helen is survived by 4 grandchildren: Deborah Proffer and husband Cliff of Georgia, Steven Schantz and wife Brandy of Wash. DC, Kevin Schantz and wife Dawn of Texas, Chris Eric Harshbarger and wife Nicole of Florida. Seven great grandchildren: Eugene, Mary Beth, Jonathon and Kayla. Ashley Schantz, Joshua and Jordan Harshbarger. Also surviving are her niece and nephew, B.J. Burnside and Curtis Petzoldt, and their families. She was born in New Breman, OH the daughter of Rev. Ray and Bertha Shearer founders and pastors of the Assembly of God Church in Carthage, NY. Following retirement from Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH, She and Ralph moved to Clearwater, FL where she remained until Ralph's passing. She moved to Parrish, FL to be near her sister and became active in New Hope Baptist Church and Veranda Springs Bible Study group until the time of her death. To the end, Helen had a clear and sharp mind, good sense of humor, loved family gatherings, and visits by friends and family. Memorial service: New Hope Baptist Church on June 15, 2010.
