Obituary of Wayne John Smith

85, of Largo, FL, entered peacefully into rest on August 18, 2010. Wayne Smith was born in Logansport, IN, the son of Lola and John Smith. Wayne served with the US Army Air Corps as a flight navigator and was honorably discharged with the rank of 2nd Lt. He graduated from Purdue University with a Masters Degree in electrical engineering. Mr. Smith retired from Western Electric in Indianapolis, IN. Survivors are his beloved wife of 66 years Rosalie; 3 daughters, 2 sons, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother; Howard Smith. Wayne Smith will be interred at Bay Pines National Cemetery following a private memorial with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Pauls United Methodist Church, Sanctuary Choir, Clearwater, FL.
