Obituary of Mary Louise Becker

Becker, Mary Louise, 83, of St. Petersburg (formerly of Mason City, IL), passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at Edward White Hospital. She was born August 16, 1927 in Greenview, IL in Menard County. Mary was the youngest girl in the family of 10 children. She married Rollan Becker of Mason City on December 29, 1946. They had 2 children and farmed there for over 50 years. Mary was devoted to her family and the farm. She came from a musical family and passed that love of music on to her own children. She was particularly devoted to her granddaughter and great grandchildren. She was deaconess in the First Christian Church in Mason City and delighted in teaching Sunday School there for many years. Rollan and Mary attended First Christian Church of Seminole since moving to St. Petersburg. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Rollan, her parents, and most of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children Rita (David) Gottfred and Thomas (Rhonda) Becker both of St. Petersburg; granddaughter Sara (Mike) Lopez of St. Petersburg; great grandchildren Lily and Julian; her brother Harold Hartley of Springfield, IL; and a loving extended family.
