Prior to his death, he was surrounded by his wife and family. Rick was born June 10, 1954 to Earl and Dorothy Oliver in Sioux City, Iowa and the second of three children. He met his wife, Tracy Aldape in 1990 and they married on December 15, 1994. She was the love of his life. Rick cared deeply for his family and friends and would do anything for them. He lived life to the fullest, often enjoying a good golf game, taking many trips on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle & enjoyed listening to his music, especially the Beatles. Rick was a Marketing Specialist for Ashley Furniture Industries for 26 years, taking over his father's territory. He was an excellent businessman and was well respected by his co-workers and customers. Taken away too soon, he will be dearly missed. Surviving are his wife, Tracy, mother, Dorothy Oliver, and sister, Karen (Evan) Chapman and nephew, Brian of Tacoma, WA. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Oliver and older brother, Steve Oliver. Rick was an organ donor and in losing his life, he afforded four others the ability to continue theirs. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011, 5 to 9 p.m. at Willow Creek Golf Course, 140 Army Post Road, West Des Moines, IA 50265.
