We were very saddend when you told me Jack had passed. I remember the time you were helping me put those pictures up on the wall in our condo and Jack walked down and was ready for his lunch. I sure do miss him on the porch . We were going to have a nice cook out this winter with ya`ll but Jack already knows we will have one with you.And I was going to y`all that the Wedding Card we recievedfrom you two last year...is most special...it is the most beautiful one we recieved because it is what ,we did...started our marriage with God, ...Bob and Me. ...So we now tell you because ....Jack already knows. I have kept all the cards but the one from Jack and you I have put in a special place.
Hold tight to your Memories of Jack for comfort and may they give you strength. Lean on your friends too...we are all there for you along with your family. If you need anything I am just a phone call away or short walk. And may the Comfort of God help you/ and your family.
Your friends,
Camilla and Bob

I always had such enjoyment when I was around 11 years old and went on dates with Jack and Sandy, my sister, who Jack eventually married. Sometimes I even brought my younger brothers when we went to the drive-in movies. Not sure if they enjoyed it but I sure did. Jack always looked so handsome in his Navy unifrorm. I was fortunate to see Jack over Thanksgiving, I went to Orlando with my family for Disneyworld and went down to spend the holiday with Sandy and Jack. Jack will always be a fond memory in my heart and a great loss to our family.

Jack and I grew up as next door neighbors in Waterloo. We spent many hours together down at Black Hawk creek. Dropping trees across it and making a dug out canoe from a large tree that had fallen. Of course, Jack being 4 years older than me, we soon parted ways. He was chasing girls and I was making new friends in junior high school.
I'm sure he will be missed.
We would like to express our deepest sympathy and sincerest condolences.
Regards,
Bill & Jean Hilbert

Cris and I along with all of Jack's friends at Waterloo Implement, would like to offer our heartfelt sympathy for the loss of a very generous person. Jack was very sincere and touched the lives of all who knew him. We always seem to be reminded about things he said and how his observations of daily routines brought us back to reality. His pride of keeping the highest image of Waterloo Implement will never be matched. Jack never ran out of questions either! It seemed like he was playing Trivial Pursuit with each new day. Questions like, how much do you think a quadruple bypass surgery costs, or how many horses do you think died in the movie True Grit, were never uncommon! He really kept us on our toes. Literally on our toes because you had to move when Jack was mopping the floor or he would mop right over your toes.
These were the fun things Jack gave us in our time with him. The last day he worked for us, Kendall (Kato as Jack nicknamed him) and I took him out for lunch and we talked about a lot of things. We sensed that Jack truely did not want to leave his friends at Waterloo Implement nor were we ready for him to retire.
Once again we are at that crossroads where we don't want to let go of Jack, but now all his questions will be answered in heaven. (Most of them!). I would guess his most recent question would be, how much do you think it would cost to get into heaven? My answer to him would be, nothing Jack, you already earned it by all the joy and love you gave to your friends. We will always have these memories of Jack. What a wonderful gift to treasure!
We hope these memories help ease some of the sorrow you have today. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Andy & Cris

The Carrier family would like to express our sympathy. Dad (Alvin) always enjoyed the visits he had with Jack when he came to our home, when they worked together at Clay Equipment. Dad has passed away in 2008, but we wil all remember the memory of Jack.
