Obituary of Arthur J. Olsen

Olsen, Arthur John, Sr., 86, of Redington Shores, FL, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2011, at the home of his daughter in Fort Atkinson, WI. Arthur was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 21, 1924, the son of Olaf and Solveig (Ringowan) Olsen. He served his country in the US Army Air Corp during WWII. On September 24, 1945, Arthur married Maudwaye Shoots at the Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Maudwaye preceded Arthur in death on August 13, 2004. Arthur was a builder and contractor in Illinois. In later years, he was a motel apartment owner in Florida where he made many good friends. Art enjoyed his last year in Wisconsin with his family and his best friend, Rudy. He attended the Reaching Out Respite in Fort Atkinson and Lake Mills, and the Fort Atkinson Senior Center. Surviving are: His children: Sandy (Nick) Basich, Fort Atkinson, WI, Art Jr. (Barb) Olsen , Tavares, FL, and Brad (Lou Koch) Olsen, Seminole, FL, Six Grandchildren and Eleven Great-grandchildren and a Brother: Cliff Olsen, South Pasadena, FL. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his brother Stanley. Visitation will be Saturday, February 12, 2011 from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM at Reese Funeral Home, 6767 Seminole Blvd., Seminole where the Funeral will be held at 12:30 PM. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, in St. Petersburg, FL.
