Obituary of Francis J. Barber

Barber, Francis J. "Frank" 59, A longtime resident of Seminole, peacefully passed away Thursday, Feb 10th, 2011 surrounded by his loving wife of 19 years, Debbie, and son Stephen by his side after a long illness. Francis graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in 1969 in Philadelphia, PA and held records in track. Frank was a passionate drummer and his love for drumming continued throughout his life. He was a member of various bands and was a founding member of the Flash Gordon Band of Seminole. He was a Parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for many years and was the longtime drummer with their contemporary Mass and played for all their special events and carnivals. Everyone loved Frank and his friends are too numerous to mention. Frank is survived by his loving wife Deborah; son Stephen; parents Rita and Ace; a brother and two sisters; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to give special thanks to the medical professionals that assisted Frank over the past 18 months, especially Suncoast Hospice. Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 18th at Reese Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00pm with Masonic Service at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, Feb. 19 at 10am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 11565 66th Ave. in Seminole. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice. Please join us for Frank's final celebration.
