When I was growing up my grandmother always called my grandpa june-ya. For years I had no clue as to why on earth she would call him that. He wasn't born in june and he wasn't asian so why call him that? Maybe it's some adorable little pet name private between the two of them? It always drove me crazy not knowing. So finally about 10 years old I asked him why does she call you june-ya? He said because that's what his mother called him. Well great, but that doesn't answer my question. It wasn't till I was 14 that I finally asked my mother, where on earth did june-ya come from? Finally, someone with less of a brooklyn accent was able to explain to this southerner.. "She's calling him JUNIOR"
ohhhhhhh!
So.. with that said.. R.I.P Grandpa June'ya!

To My Dad: I tried to come up with the words to express how I saw you as a father and a man...it doesn't even come close:
One Less Man
Today the world has forever changed. There is one less man in this world who will greet a stranger with a smile and a hello as if he was a long lost "buddy". There is one less man in this world who will talk to a rich man the same exact way he would talk to a poor man. There is one less man in this world who will show respect to everyone he meets. There is one less man in this world who loves his family so much he will go to work everyday to a job that will destroy his body just to give them everything they need and want. Today there is one less father to children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who love, respect and honor him their whole lives.
Today Heaven has changed forever. Today Heaven has a women dancing with the man she waited for patiently for 17 years. She is dressed in a white dress and he is in his white suit and white shoes. Every so often they stop from dancing to take a sip from their "high ball". They laugh and joke remembering the good times.
Now they wait patiently together to be with their children and grandchildren once again.
They are once again Flo and Jo!
I love you Mom and Dad. Take good care of each other and we will all see you very soon. Love Lori

The memories of our life growing up together from Brooklyn to Florida will always be in my heart. Hope your playing as good a game of golf up there as you did down here. Sorry you didn't let me win a little more often!!!
You will always be my big brother and the better looking one.
