Obituary of June E. Hartman

Hartman, June E. (Miller) July 17, 1920 - April 11, 2011 June Ziegler was born at Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio on July 17th. 1920. June Hartman died while she slept, more than 90 years later, in her residence near Clearwater, Florida. In her years in-between June lived a basic, simple, Christian, honest, and happy life. Her accomplishments were never worthy of any Newspaper Headlines. And to the people she met, her effect was less than world- changing or unforgettable? Hardly worth mentioning this little old 80 pound woman? In her youth, June suffered the pain of absentee parents; never to complain. The depression never throttled back her positive attitude. War and Hunger were not strangers to her upbringing. Yet a quick wit and humor were traits of her character. She was a valued employee for years at Tiedtke's, Toledo Buffet, Toledo Trust, and past owner of Katheryn Hairdressers. As a long time Toledo resident, June faced her biggest challenge in raising 4 young children. She saw to it that her 2 boys (Jim & Tom) graduated from Central Catholic H.S. And that her 2 girls (Judy & Jeanene) graduated from Bedford H.S. While living in Toledo, June and her husband Jerry were Boaters and avid square dancers. June, quite often would out- fish the men. Jerry worked for Sealtest Dairy for 30 years. They were married 27 years until his death on March 9th. 1964. June has beloved family members in Toledo of Pete& Lynn Stoner, Ken & Sue Stoner, Dick & Denise Stoner, Tom & Jeanne Moran, Karen Scherer, Beverly Miller, and in Oakdale California of Bonnie & Gene Miller, and Doug Miller. In 1982 June and Bob Hartman relocated to the Clearwater, Florida area where they quickly adapted to the environment and the lifestyle. Actually, the entire area suited the whole family and more. ?Less than world-changing? One Daughter said, "My Mom was definitely a people person, who believed the more the merrier. She wanted her Family and Friends around at all times. She never needed, or wanted to be alone. Family and Friends were everything to her - She never got her fill. Anyone was welcome to her Home-morning-noon-night; without a moments notice. She loved to play cards, dance, and entertain. And she did them all well. My fondest memories are of her getting dressed up on Saturday nights to go dancing with dad to Centennial Terrace. The get-togethers with friends to play Hearts, Spades, Euchre, Pinochle, Rummy, etc. The SO-MANY fish-fries and cook-outs we had with friends and neighbors. If there was a gathering she was in the midst of it. If there wasn't a party, she organized one. My Mom was also the first to lend a helping-hand to someone in need. She was compassionate, understanding, and loyal. Call on her, and she would be there - for a dear friend, or a complete Stranger." ?Hardly Worth Mentioning? One Daughter-in Law said,"June was a loving, caring, Mother & Grandmother. She was the best Mother-in Law anyone could ask for. We had many Great Times Boating, Fishing, and Shelling. We spent hundreds of fun hours playing cards, even though she usually won. Her presence, Love, and special cooking made the holidays an especially magical time. June was a member of the BRIAR BELLES in Clearwater until 2009. Again their mission was to give aid to the needy. We will all miss her terribly; But know that she will be happy, in Heaven with God." A lot of her School Mates, Sorority Sisters, Family, Friends, and Loved-ones left June's Companionship before time. But they all were the kind of Sidekicks to patiently wait for her welcomed arrival.
