P-Pop, know that we are taking care of Grammy for you. Gracie came to be with you a few years ago, and Pippin' a couple years ago (who we didn't have for long) and I know they'll bask in your love. Your love is felt every day and I think of you every time something becomes unbearably difficult because I wonder what you might do. I pray to you for strength. I remember the unconditional love you showed us, even though we weren't your blood you will always be my grandpa and my P-Pop. You loved us like it was the easiest thing in the world. Know that I still learn through you and the way you lived your life because even though you're gone, your memories and your legacy will shine on forever.
You were an extraordinary soul with a heart the size of the moon and you will never be forgotten. Love you always, Jenny xoxo

Dear P.pop,
Today Grammy played this song, and she said it was your favorite. But, she had to stop listening because it made her sad. I hope one day she will be able to listen to it and smile, like I know you want her to. Love you, Jes
"I wandered today to the hill, Maggie,
To watch the scene below -
The creek and the creaking old mill, Maggie,
As we used to, long ago.
The green grove is gone from the hill, Maggie,
Where first the daisies sprung;
The creaking old mill is still, Maggie,
Since you and I were young.
And now we are agèd and grey, Maggie,
And the trials of life nearly done,
Let us sing of the days that are gone, Maggie,
When you and I were young.
A city so silent and lone, Maggie,
Where the young, and the gay, and the best,
In polished white mansions of stone, Maggie,
Have each found a place of rest,
Is built where the birds used to play, Maggie,
And join in the songs that we sung;
For we sang as lovely as they, Maggie,
When you and I were young.
They say that I'm feeble with age, Maggie,
My steps are less sprightly than then,
My face is a well-written page, Maggie,
And time alone was the pen.
They say we are agèd and grey, Maggie,
As sprays by the white breakers flung,
But to me you're as fair as you were, Maggie,
When you and I were young. "

I recall alot of good times with Harold. Being a sales rep and calling on Harold at his Gator Haven store was always a challenge. I would always get pumped up when I went to his store.I would tell myself that today he would not get the best of me.That I would get him to buy what I wanted him to have. As I was leaving his store I kept asking the question,how did he do that. I couldn't sell him anything that I wanted to. Not only did he get the products he wanted but at the price he wanted. What a man! And he did it in a way that I felt good about the sale.Harold,I love you man. I hope you're not charging Admission for people coming to see you. Respectfully, Fred Gertsch

I remember our morning meeting with muffins, frosted flakes, pastries... He would go to the grocery store and come back with all sorts of good stuff - he always got the good rolls and the turkey sliced thin. P-Pop made the best steak I've ever had. He loved to cook, and he always ate slow and enjoyed every last bite. His token hangouts were the garage (equipped with his pipe and mini TV for watching the games - Go Gators!) and P-Pop's clubhouse at the Canada place. He wore everything Gators. I remember smoke bubbles & how he would call me tweetie and sunshine. And how he'd always say, "Hoooly mackerel!" or "Holy toledo!" I was sitting out with him in the garage one evening and he was telling me about how he used to work with oil and then we were just sitting there and he said, "Don't forget your old P-Pop." Well, I promise I never, ever will. I love you so much. I will miss you forever.
See ya later, Gator.
