Obituary of Harry E. Proffitt

Harry E. Proffitt was born January 4th 1923 and passed on Nov 24th 2011. He is survived by his three sons, Richard, Allen, and Daniel, his 5 grand children and 3 great grand children. After graduation of Henry Ford Trade School Harry enlisted in the US Marine Corps where he proudly served his country in WW11 from 1941-1945. After the war he met and married his wife of 65 years, Louise Hoehn Proffitt. Mom was young and beautiful and with her smile could light up the room and of course became the twinkle in Dads eyes. They both shared a love that lasted a lifetime. They lived in Dearborn Michigan where Harry worked for Ford and GM as a Tool & Die Maker. After leaving GM he started his own business as a sign painter and moved their family and business to Florida. His hobbies, to name a few, were raising and training homing pigeons, baseball and football. He also built gas airplanes and made kites with parachute launchers. He was a very talented and inventive and could fix anything. He was a loving and caring man who shared all with his family. He loved all of us with such joy and pride that it lit up his face every time we were together. There was never a time we could not talk to him or that he would not offer advice. Some of you may not have known our father the way we did, but for those who did not get to see this side of him missed out on knowing a great man. A man that made sure that his family was taken care of even if it meant he had to sacrifice something important to him. May god bless you Mom and Dad, you're now together forever. The peace you have always been in search of, the place where things like war, sickness or heartache can no longer exist. We will miss and love you forever, and forever you will be in our hearts.
