Obituary of John J. Shear

SHEAR, John J. 80, of Seminole, formerly Tampa, died peacefully on Dec 20, 2011 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, graduated from the University of Dayton, and moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1959. He worked in the retailing and insurance fields before establishing his own company, Commercial Risk Management / Southeastern Underwriters, Inc. in 1975, in which he maintained an active interest even after his retirement. He is survived by his four children, Charles M. Shear (Cindy) of Citrus Springs, Amy MacCallum Peer (Jay) of Seminole, R. Kevin Martin (Sandi) of Jacksonville, and Kerry A. Martin of Sarasota; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his CRM, Inc. family. His passion was his work. His legacy was his ability to develop, grow and run a very successful company with the same loving devotion to his employees that he shared with his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA of Tampa Bay or the Christian Ministry of your choice. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2011 at Tampa Bay Community Church, 3315 W. Fletcher Ave,Tampa. Reese Funeral Home 391-9954
