Obituary of Roland H. Courchene

Roland H. Courchene March 23, 1934 - January 23, 2012 Roland H. Courchene , passed away Monday, January 23rd, 2012 at his home. He was 77 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leopold and Annette Courchene, his two brothers, Gerald and Ronald Courchene , and his wife of 39 years, Michele Courchene. He was born in Rhode Island. He spent his childhood and young adult years between Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He was always close to family and large circle of friends. His hobby and passion was gardening since he was a young man. Roland and Michele met while on vacation in New Hampshire in the early 1960's. They married in 1965 and lived in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. In 1967, their first then second child, Carole and Bruce were born. Later in 1972, their third child, Amy was born. In 1976, the family packed up and moved to Seminole, Florida. Roland began working for General Electric and retired in 1992. Once retired he had more time work on his gardens and enjoy the local beaches. Then in 1998, he and Michele began to spend time with their new grandchildren, which filled their hearts with love and joy. Roland is survived by his three children: Carole Courchene, of Dahlonega, Georgia, Bruce Courchene and Amy Walsh, both of Seminole, Florida. Also survived by his two grandchildren, Jacquelyn and Brock Courchene, of Seminole, Florida. Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, January 28th at Reese Funeral Home.
