Obituary of Betty Foster Price

Price, Betty Foster 89, of St. Pete Beach, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at home surrounded by her friends and family. She was the daughter of Raymond M. Carey, Sr. and and Bessie Thomas Carey of Princess Anne, Maryland. Mrs. Price was the first member of her family to complete college and taught elementary school in Florida, Maryland, and Delaware, where she was selected as her school district's teacher of the year. She was among the first group of admittees to the Salisbury University Athletic Hall of Fame. She married her college sweetheart "Swiv" Newcomb upon graduation from college. Lieutenant Newcomb was killed in action in World War II. On February 6, 1946 she married the Rev. Philip K. Foster, who predeceased her. After retiring to Florida she married Robert Price who also predeceased her. She is survived by four sons Philip Carey Foster, of Easton, Maryland, John (Jan) T. Foster, of St. Petersburg, Florida, David Kyle Foster, of Franklin, Tennessee, and Robert (Violetta)) L. Foster of Madeira Beach, Florida. She is also survived by her 3 grandchildren Jonathan Foster, Trinity T. Foster, and Taber J. Foster as well as her special friend Albert Leonard all of the St. Petersburg, Florida area. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to Suncoast Hospice or the Presbyterian Church of Easton, Maryland at 617 North Washington St, Easton, MD 21601. Services will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church in Seminole on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 10am. Interment will be at the Manokin Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Princess Anne, Maryland at a later date.
