Obituary of Ruth Ann Schreiber

Ruth Ann Schreiber (nee, Krueck) was born in New Port, R. I., the third child and eldest daughter of Walter A. and Mary C. Krueck. The growing family relocated to northern Ohio where Walter returned to farming in South Amherst. Ruth completed training as a Registered Nurse at St. Alexis School of Nursing in Cleveland in 1942. She married MM1 G. Carl Schreiber in October 1943. The couple settled with sons James and Thomas in Avon, OH. She worked in labor and delivery at Lorain General Hospital, ultimately becoming a shift supervisor. The Schreibers moved to St. Petersburg in 1964, largely due to Carl's declining health. Ruth worked at Bayfront Medical Center before moving to Morton Plant Hospital in 1965. She retired in 1986. Ruth was very involved with her church, Blessed Sacrament. In retirement, Ruth volunteered in many areas especially those involving children. She enjoyed her grandchildren, travel, sewing and a wide range of arts and craft work. Ruth was preceded in death by Carl (June 1975), older brothers Frederick and William and younger siblings Walter, Raymond, Martin and Marie. She is survived by siblings Joseph and Annette, son James, wife Angela and granddaughters Cheryl and Diane and son Thomas, granddaughter Amanda, grandson Carl, wife Rhonda and great grandson Weston. She will be dearly missed. Services will be held at 10 A.M. Monday April 2, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 11565 66th Avenue N., Seminole.
