I met Tony in the late seventies when he was working at Social Security in Tampa, later Wellswood then St Petersburg and then Pinellas Park where he retired. He was a strong leader; those he supervised had great respect for him. I knew him for his wit and humor, music and sports. We fished on his boat and I also went to a few of his music programs, most recently at the Masonic Home.
His family and friends are surely comforted by his well lived life. Norm Bungard

We were so sad to hear of Tony's passing.. wish we had been better at keeping in touch.
Tony was my Best Man at my Wedding 54 years ago in 1963! I have a lot of memories of when he would come to my house when we were younger and we would play music together.. he always wanted to start a Band together..I never saw him again after he moved to Florida and will always regret that... we were good friends and had lots of fun fishing and crabbing together..Tony, I miss those times together and pray you are playing your Trumpet for the Angles..
Love and prayers for your family and friends

I wish I had met Tony years earlier. We met on the band stand & shared rides to Pasadena & Masonic Bands as well as sharing the same music book & stand in both bands. I hadn't played marches & different rhythms like 2/4 - 6/8 - etc. for over 60 years, so he helped me with all the changes when I got lost.
We discovered that in much earlier years we were in competition for small combo gigs playing the old standards that we both loved. Not only did we bond together through music, but the best part, we found that we had the same faith & our salvation was sealed through Jesus Crist. When he got sick we talked about what Heaven was going to be like and before the end he promised to secure a trumpet there for me that wouldn't have sticky valves.
Soon we will get to play together again in that Heavenly Band.

Tony always treated me with kindness during those times I came down to the Gulf visit my mother, Charleen. Fed me plenty of smoked mackerel and scamp grouper, and furnished plenty of beer to wash the mess down with. Just an all around good man who will always be fondly remembered…..
