Obituary of Madeline E. MacKenzie

Madeline Eva "Maddy" MacKenzie: February 17th, 1947 - May 1st, 2012 Madeira Beach, Florida - On, May 1st, our beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, and friend, Madeline Eva "Maddy" MacKenzie, joined the other angels in heaven after a brief illness. At just 65, she died in her home surrounded by loved ones. Maddy was born in Manchester, NH to George Grady "Red" and Rose Gaulding. A long-time hairdresser, she owned and operated her salon, Maddy's Touch, in Concord, NH. Seeking warmer weather and the pursuit of their dreams, she moved with her husband Douglas to Florida in 2000. An accomplished artist, she loved to paint and was extremely creative. Her other great love was for animals in general but she had an especially soft spot for greyhounds. She and Doug adopted and fostered numerous rescued greyhounds over the years. Also, every morning, she could be seen scattering seed for the birds, because she believed "you must feed the birds-they take your soul to heaven." Left behind until we meet again are countless friends and family who will miss her laugh, her generosity, her creativity, her zest for life, her prankster's sense of humor, and every other quality that made her the amazing, wonderful woman she was. But, most of all, we'll miss the love, selflessness, and thoughtfulness that endeared her to all who were lucky enough to know her. Waiting to see her again in the next life are: the love of her life and husband of 36 years, Douglas; son Darryl Kuebler of NJ; daughter Cynthia Zmijewski, her husband Steve and daughter Morgan of New Brunswick, NJ; son Kevin Kuebler, his wife Wendy, and children Alexa and Kevin of Clarksburg, NJ; daughter Madeline "Lynn" Anderson and her husband Michael of Madeira Beach, FL; sister Bonnie Blazon, her husband Bob, and son Michael, his wife Rosalee and their daughters Elisabeth and Kathryn of Suncook, NH; sister Julie Rose White, her husband James of Seminole, FL and daughter Jennifer of Brandon, FL; cousin Cathy Friend and husband Ron of Klamath Falls, OR; brother-in-law Steven MacKenzie and his wife Mhairi of Wallingford, CT and their daughters Kristen and Karen; stepson David MacKenzie of Benton, NH; stepdaughter Donna MacKenzie of Largo, FL and her children Ethan and Janelle; stepdaughter Diana Fallon, her husband Joe, and their sons Brendan and Connor of Vista, CA and a multitude of other family and friends far and wide. Though we will miss you terribly, you will live on through the many wonderful memories we each carry with us and we are grateful for the time we shared with you. Our hearts are gladdened knowing you enjoyed a fulfilling life complete with love, laughs and happiness. You touched so many lives in so many ways. For that, and for everything else that made you the person we all love, we say thank you, be at peace, and we'll see you in the next life. You will always be with us both in our memories and in our hearts. We miss you, we love you. A private celebration of Maddy's life will be held at a later date. Instead of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations in Maddy's name to: Greyhound Pets of America, P.O. Box 8071, Madeira Beach, FL 33738 or Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Boulevard, Clearwater, FL 33760.
